Claire is a writer, editor, and long-term ‘voluntary hobo’. After a backpacking trip to Scotland in 2013, she realized that the standard 9 to 5 grind in her Seattle insurance career wasn’t going to lead to the life she wanted. After ditching the fancy job and the high-end apartment, Claire began building a career that would allow her to live life on her own terms. She stumbled into the financial and investment writing niche early on, and found that her natural love of math and analysis made it a perfect fit. Since then, she’s traveled the world, married a bonny Scotsman, settled down in Cuenca, Ecuador, and maintained a happily semi-retired lifestyle writing for many well-known financial resources, such as Investopedia, NapkinFinance, CNBC, SmartAsset, and Dividend.com.
" Writing these books was a uniquely rewarding experience. Being on the older end of the Millennial spectrum, I found myself realizing how much books like these would have helped me ten years ago. But it also highlighted how much I’d learned through my own financial journey, and how much joy it brought me to be able to share those tools with others. Because I co-authored the two final volumes, I really got to work with Chris to flesh out the Dashboard tool and fit all these moving pieces together, which made this so much more than just another writing gig. My hope is that I’ve helped, in some small way, to create something that can help other people free themselves from the status-quo.
